Sculpture

Portraits

Without colour and movement a person never looks like they do. Sculpted portraits are, in principle, impossible. Nevertheless with careful attention to form and texture and composition and the nature of light and the variance of silhouette it is possible to draw from clay a breathing likeness of a sitter

Ceramic Figures

A storm is coming. Go up to the high ground keep watch as it boils across the horizon

Ceramic Sitting Stones

These are little vignettes of mood pulled together into a form which sits nicely in the hand

Ceramic Horses

The horse has a strange relation with humans in its power and ability and the way it is always situated within primitive narratives of dominance
